Are there any plans for Stonebrook Parkway to come together and be one complete road between Teel Rd and where it begins again at the tollway?
It would make my drive to the post office everyday a lot easier :-)

The City of Frisco is currently working on three projects on Stonebrook:

FM 423 to 4th Army: The project will construct the four lane roadway from FM 423 to Teel and widen the existing two lane roadway to four lanes from Teel to 4th Army, completing the four lane roadway between FM 423 and Legacy. Construction of this project is expected to begin in Summer 2010 and be completed in Spring 2011.

Legacy to Longhorn: This project will construct the roadway from Legacy, under the railroad to Longhorn Trail. Upon completion of this project, Stonebrook would be completed between FM 423 and the Tollway. This project contains several design elements which make it difficult, including the railroad and complicated drainage issues. As a result, the design of this project is not expected to be completed until Spring 2011. Construction should begin in Summer 2011 and take two years to complete.

Tollway to Preston: This project will replace the two deteriorated westbound lanes with three lanes. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2010 and be completed in early 2012.

All of this information is contained in the Engineering Department's monthly staff report to the City Council which is available on the City of Frisco's website. I have provided a link below.

Stonebrook is supposed to go under the railroad. Most places in this city where a road goes under the railroad have serious soil control problems. I would suggest this happens because of the stress that the train traffic puts on the soil. It seems that it would be better to put the road over the railroad.

Due to the negative impact of traffic (noise, lights, aethetics, etc) to the nearby subdivisions, designing the roadway to go over the railroad is not option we have available. The problem at other locations appears to be bad soil and steep slopes, not stresses due to the trains. We have instructed our design consultant to thoroughly study the soil conditions near the railroad and design the slopes and retaining walls accordingly. We will be closely reviewing this information to avoid the problems that have surfaced at a couple of locations.
