After reading the article on NBCs website (http://www.nbcdfw.com/traffic_autos/transit/Frisco-Puts-Brakes-on-Red-Light-Came ras.html), I was curious to know if it were possible to relocate the two existing cameras to other intersections as opposed to leaving the camera the city currently owns at their current locations in a non-functional capacity? I read in a separate post (on this board) that it would take a intersection study and a time period of around 6 months to be able to relocate a camera. Is this still the case? I think the cameras if owned by the city should be used in other locations (ie. Preston/Lebanon or Preston/Main) to help reduce incidents at these intersections similar to the results noted at the existing locations. Is this a possibility for the future, or have these cameras been deemed inadequate or unnecessary for further use?

The City does not own the cameras. They will be removed by the vendor.

We do warrant studies at intersections as well as present that information to the citizen advisory committee. The amount of time it takes to do those can vary tremendously.
