What is 31,549 similar accounts? (reference to graph on utility bill) I thought Frisco has around 23k homes.

Actually, that would be a nice stat to know, how many homes are there in Frisco occupied today.

Per Anita Cothran, Director of Finance:

As of November 30, 2007, the city has 35,779 utility billing accounts that are billed on a monthly basis.

Are there any plans to allow customers to set up their utility bill on an automatic draft from either a bank account or credit card each month? Currently the system is set up that if you want to pay online you can but you have to pay these additional fees in order to do it.

Thank you for your question. The City of Frisco currently does offer free bank drafts, just contact Utility Billing, 972-292-5575, and they will provide the form that must be completed to enroll for this service.

We also offer on-line bill payment through a third party contractor. The City Council has authorized a sliding convenience fee for all credit card payments, and these fees are reviewed annually. Credit card payments are processed on-line, or in person at City Hall.

Is there any initiative to allow customers to get their bills electronically instead of through the mail?

Thanks for asking about electronic bills for utility accounts. Our current system does not allow this functionality. In the near future, we hope to upgrade to a computer system that will allow our customers to elect electronic statement billing.
