What is the city's policy on the number/frequency of cars parked on a residential street? Samantha Drive (75035) has so many cars parked on it in the mornings and at night, there is hardly room to allow cars to pass...weekends are worse. Samantha feeds off Hillcrest and has a lot of traffic on school days.

I have listed the ordinance that pertains to parking on a public street. There is not an official number of cars that can or cannot be parked on a public street; however, traffic cannot be obstructed. In other words, traffic should be able to freely flow without obstruction. Please contact the non-emergency number, 972-292-6010 should you need a patrol officer to check out the area.

Sec. 90-150 Parking not to obstruct traffic
(a) No person shall park any vehicle upon a public street, alley or highway in a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than 12 feet of the width of the roadway for free movement of vehicular traffic.
(b) No person shall park any vehicle upon a street adjacent to a driveway in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than three feet of roadway between the vehicle and the point where the curve return of the driveway connects with the curb.
(Ordinance 00-05-14, sec. 5, adopted 5/16/00)
