Since founding memberships are now on sale for the new athletic center, I was wondering if you could answer a few questions.
1. What will the operating hours of the facility be?
2. What will the hours be for the kid's fun club?
3. Is there a minimum age requirement for the fun club?
4. What types of activities are available in the fun club for toddlers or preschoolers? Are there play structures for climbing, sliding, etc.?

Thank you for your note and questions regarding the Frisco Athletic Center.

In regard to your questions, I would offer the following:

1. The general operating hours of the Frisco Athletic Center will be:
Monday through Fridays - 5:00 am to 10:00 pm
Saturdays - 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Sundays - 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

It should be noted that the indoor Aquatic Center will have hours that are seperate from the general facility. For all of the current hours of operation for the facility, please go to

2. Current hours for the Fun Club child care area will be:
Monday through Thursdays - 8:00 am to Noon; and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Fridays and Saturdays - 8:00 am to Noon

3. The ages for the Fun Club child care area will be from 8 weeks old to 7 years of age.

4. Regarding the actual programming activities for the fun club area, I would need to refer you to Marcy Jones, who is our Superintendent of Recreation Services and who oversees our programming for the department. Marcy can be reached by calling 972-292-6501 or by email at

I hope that this has helped to clarify some of the questions that you might have regarding the Frisco Athletic Center.

Please let me know if you should have any additional questions.

Thanks again for your note and interest.

The press release said "To date, more than 1,800 people have signed up to become founding members."

Are those 1,800 family memberships or a total of 1,800 people (counting number of people per family.). Just curious the breakdown to see if it is mostly families joining or if there are actually single adults joining. Thanks.

Thanks for your note regarding the membership numbers for the Frisco Athletic Center. As of 2:00 pm this afternoon, we have a total of 2,257 members for the facility. From that number, a total of 2,144 members are part of families. At this time, family memberships for the FAC account for 94.99 percent of the current total.

I expect that once the Athletic Center opens for business on October 29, 2007 the number of single adults will increase, both in terms of annual memberships as well as monthly memberships. I also expect that the total percentage of families versus adult memberships will re-adjust as we open the Center.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
