I haven't seen any information about this: work crews have been burying a large-diameter steel pipe underground for the last couple of weeks in the median of Main Street between Dallas Parkway and Majestic Garden. What is this project? It looks like a water main.

Wayne,

You are correct: the construction you are seeing is a 36-inch diameter ductile iron water line from the intersection of Main and Legacy, west to the end of the "extra-wide" median, and then south along the edge of the old airport toward the nearly-completed Southwest Elevated Tank. This water line project is one of five that is intended to connect the new Eldorado Pump Station to the Southwest Elevated Tank and the proposed Northwest Elevated Tank. Once all is said and done, these projects will result in nearly 8 miles of 36- and 48-inch water lines, 5 million gallons of elevated storage, and 20 million gallons of ground storage to serve the west side of Frisco as it continues to grow.

If you have any other questions or concerns about this or any other water line project, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
