What is going on with the land that was donated by Meritage(formaly Legacy) and D.R. Horton to the city?

We moved in over a year and a half ago and nothing has happened. We were told it would be developed into a park.

Any timelines?

Thanks for your message regarding what I believe is what we refer to as the Queens Gate neighborhood park. This park lies just to the north of Rolater Road, east of Preston Road.

In actuality, the City purchased this property and funding has been identified for this neighborhood park in 2006. If funding continues to be available, it appears that design development and construction of this park will occur beginning in 2007 and be completed in early 2008.

Master planning of the park will likely begin in the spring of 2006 and there will be no less than two public meetings in which input from the area near the park will be sought. As we near that time, please feel free to contact us to get additional details on these meetings.

If you have any additional questions regarding this, please let us know.

Thank you,
