I found out today that the Stonebriar Station Post Office Contract Unit is closing the end of September. This is very discouraging since the customer service at this station is outstanding. This closing will leave us with only one post office for the entire city of Frisco. What is the city of Frisco doing to increase customer statisfaction at the current post office and what are the city's plans for future post offices to service the ever growing population of Frisco?

While the post office is a service of the federal government, Mayor Simpson has been working to encourage the expansion of services in Frisco for the past 3 years. Today, Carl January, Dallas District Manager for the USPS, told Mayor Simpson that the paperwork to bring an additional post office to Frisco is currently in Washington DC and they hope to have approval within 30 days. Once approved, they must close on the property, and construction is anticipated to take 12 months. The post office will be located on the east side of Coit Road, about 800' south of Main.

For concerns regarding customer satisfaction or other issues related to the post office, please contact our local postmaster, Wilma Johnson, by emailing her at
