Can you please provide an update on the status of any improvements to the "park" land along Bendbrook Drive in the Hunter's Creek subdivision. Will improvements be made? If so, to what extent and when will the work begin?

Erica,

The Parks and Recreation Board approved funding to enhance this area as well as others that fronted the creek along the property that is owned by the City. We are currently working to prepare plans of what will go in this area. The project will consist of grading in some of the rough areas, importing topsoil where needed, installing native or well adapted plant species (grasses) and installing temporary irrigation where needed to establish the plant material.

Staff has also begun an in-house project of cleaning up the trash that has been illegally dumped or blown into the creek corridor. As the ground dries and weather permits, they will also work on clearing some of the underbrush in certain areas. There will be areas left pretty much as is for wildlife habitat while others are enhanced and maintained at a higher level.

You should see some of the improvements immediately and the grass planting will probably take place late spring.

Thanks
Dudley Raymond
Parks Planning and CIP Superintendent
