It looks like someone is moving dirt around Preston and Fisher (not the Pulte development). What's going to be built there?

Dave,

Planning staff has met with the developer of the site and discussed the proposed uses of offices and retail buildings. At this time neither a preliminary or final site plan has been submitted for the site. Until such time we will not know exactly what will be built on the site. Thank you for your interest.

Are you saying that the city allows all kinds of earth moving machinery to work on a site without even preliminary site approval? What exactly does the city know about what will be built here?

Dave,

The property owner requested permission from the City to clean up an area approximately 1 acre in size near or on the actual corner. Over time, debris had been piled on the lot. This debris consists of rock, concrete, and steel. The owner was given permission to only remove this debris. Nothing more.

Clearing a site and grading for construction does require site plan approval. In this situation the owner is only doing clean up and has indicated that he is not grading the site for construction. If you have any additional questions please contact me at 972.335.5580, Ext. 157. Thank you.
