I know fireworks are banned in city limits. Are the little pop things that you throw on the ground included in the ban? Snakes?

Ms. Ellis,

Many people have inquired about the legality of these "poppers'" that are sold at many of the stores around town. These items are legal. They are not ignitable but should be used with proper supervision. These items are sold as novelties and do not fall under the scope of "fireworks."

Is it required a fireworks permit if using sparklers, bottle rockets, and firecrackers
on an open area north of lebannon, off Legacy?
Under adult supervision?

Your question is very timely and, I am sure, others might want similar information. Fireworks of the type you describe are not allowed in the City of Frisco and, from your description, I believe the area you reference is in the City of Frisco. Fines for violations can be as high as $2000.00. Only State of Texas approved pyrotechnic displays are allowed in the City of Frisco and then only with the approval of Fire Marshal.

There will be several opportunities to view fireworks displays on the night of the 4th at Hall Office Park and other areas in Frisco. Information is available for these events on the City of Frisco web site at .

Again, thank you for taking time to pursue this information.

Thank you,
Mack Borchardt

Last year we had people setting off fireworks that went over our house. Is there a number we can call if this happens again?
