Why does it seem that the restaurant boom has ended in Frisco. Dickie's is about the only new food place that I can re call. Are there any plans for other food chains in the near future. I figure that just about any restaurant/fast food place will make it in Frisco. Our choices are very limited at best..

Dear Alex,

I have not seen any signs that the restaurant boom in Frisco is over. Restaurants are continuing to be approved and built throughout the city at an amazing rate (and they are all keeping busy).

If you have a favorite restaurant that has yet to come to Frisco, write to their corporate offices and tell them to give us a look.

Alex,

Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Lafata is correct, we continue to receive site plans that include new restaurant pad sites. We are currently working on a final site plan for Ritzy's on Preston Road and have two other restaurant chains that are discussing potential pad sites with staff. We expect that additional applications will be made over the next 2-3 months.

Can you please advise who has been approved and who has applied for approval.. Is there a web-site or do we just have to wait til' it happens??

Alex,

We do not have an overall list of new restaurants. We do post all application submittals on the City's web site. Go to the Planning page and click on Development. Then select month submittals. Here the applications are broken down by month and by city quadrant. Each map indicates the location and type of submittal. This would be the best place to look for new restaurants that are filing site plans.

Our Health Inspection division maintains a list of all restaurants and food services in the City on the Development Services page. You can click on the Restaurant Guide and get a listing of all the restaurants in town.
