I understand that there is to be a regional city park near the intersection of Eldorado Parkway and FM 423. Has planning for that new park begun yet? If not, is there a time estimate on when the planning will begin? Is there any more information you can share about what type of park that will be (soccer fields, play ground, etc). As a homeowner in the area, we want to be sure to attend any Parks and Rec meetings. Thank you!

Thanks for your note regarding a possible regional city park near the intersection of El Dorado Parkway and FM 423.

In answer to your initial question, the only City of Frisco Community Park that is anywhere near the above referenced intersection would be our Northwest Community Park site. This 164 acre community park is located along and east of Teel Parkway, north of F.M. 2934 (ElDorado Parkway)and south of Panther Creek.

Acquired by the Community Development Corporation in October, 1998, this park site is adjacent to a Frisco Independent School District school site.

Master planning of this large community park has been tentatively set for 2008, with development of the park occuring after that time.

As a community park, this site will likely have some of the following elements:
* Large Playground
* Lighted athletic facilities
* Multi-purpose courts (Tennis and Basketball courts)
* Restroom and Concession facilities
* Walking trails
* Water features (ponds with fountains, etc)
* Large parking areas

While this site has not been master planned at this point in time, public input on the master planning of the site will be encouraged and sought out during that time.

Should you have any additional questions regarding this park location, please feel free to let me or our staff know.
