Main street from Hillcrest to Custer is becoming dangerous. The road is deteriorating from all of the heavy traffic. Is there a plan to fix this since it appears that it will be a while until it is completly rebuilt?

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) has the maintenance responsibility for FM 3537 (Main Street). We will inform TxDot of your concerns. You can contact our Engineering Department at 972-335-5580 for information regarding the complete reconstruction of the road. If you have any other questions, please contact me at 972-335-5520.

It appeared that some work was being done to alleviate the backup eastbound on 3537 at Custer. It has not improved. Are the improvements still pending or just ineffective?
Finally, what is the current estimated date that 3537 will be widened?

The City of Frisco has started the engineering for FM 3537 from Preston to Custer Road. This roadway will be designed to TxDot standards and built by TxDot.The schematic has been approved by TxDot early this summer and the engineer has started the PS&E (Plans, Specifications and engineering drawings). It is anticipated to be complete mid 2004. The City is working with TxDot in trying to move this roadway up on the TxDot list of funded projects. While the engineering is being completed the City Staff is working on getting the Right-of-Way for this roadway. The City is also working with McKinney and Collin County for the intersection improvements at Custer and FM 3537. The drawings should be complete in 2 months but ROW main take longer.
