I've heard that the stop light at Main and Teel should be installed in August. Will it actually be installed this month, or has it been pushed back?

Doug,

Due to design changes, the signal construction has been delayed. The signal is expected to be installed by this December.

Todd,

This project is scheduled to be advertised for bid beginning this Friday, August 8, 2003. The bids are scheduled to be open on August 25. Provided there are not any outstanding issues with the bid, the bid award will go to the September 2, 2003 City Council meeting.

I would expect construction to begin sometime in October and take about 1 month to complete.

Thanks

Hi - Can you update us on this situation? Did the bid award go at the Sept 2 City Council Meeting? I am still very concerned about the traffic flow to and from my house which is west of Teel on Main Street. I basically have one way to get to and from my home and don't understand why construction on a north/south route west of the Tollway hasn't been started. Can you speak to this? Thank you.

Brian,
This item did not appear on the Sept 2 city council agenda. Has the timeline been changed? If so can you give a new timeline. The traffic build up at this intersection continues to get heavier every passing day.

Adam and Holly,

There was a bid award made at the September 2, 2003 Council meeting for two traffic signals. However, the bid award was for signals at Preston and Eldorado and at Main and Coit. When I made that statement earlier in this thread about September 2, it was in reference to Todd St. John's question about Preston and Eldorado.

At Main and Teel, I have completed the review of the 90 percent signal plans. I expect to have them back from our consultant and ready to bid by September 12. This should bring it before the council at their October 7, 2003 meeting. From there it will be about 12 to 14 weeks before the poles will come in.

I expect the signal to be operational by the end of January.

Thanks

Brian - What about information on a north/south corridor west of Dallas Parkway? I noticed recently that Teel is being cleared south of Lebanon but do not notice any progress on Legacy north to Main or Teel south of Main. I believe 30 million dollars is designated for roads of the first 96.5 million dollar bond pkg that was sold. Where is this money and what are the priorities? Does citizen input matter? Thanks

Holly,

Please see my post for Birgit Rauschuber's question about roads in West Frisco. The topic is West Frisco Bottleneck. It has which roads are currently under design in this area and also has a link to the bond sale report that shows where the 30 million is being spent. I also provide a link to our thoroughfare plan.

Citizen input is important and was taken into account when selecting which projects were going to be built with the first 30 million dollars. Most of this citizen input was taken during public meetings preceding the bond election.

Thanks
