I live in Heritage Green off of Lebanon. There is a large empty field that borders my subdivision. Who is responsible for this field? The weeds have grown well over 36 inches and it is an incredible eyesore. Can you send someone out to look at this? The field is behind the Stewart Creek subdivision off of Shamrock and Childress.

Code Enforcement inspected the area at Stewart Creek Subdivision and will notify the property owners of the tall vegetation violation. If you have any questions or addtional concerns, please contact Code Enforcement at 972.335.5580, Ext. 188.

What is the height limit for vegetation according to the City Code? Is it the same for open field areas as it is for residential yards?

The maximum height limit for vegetation is twelve (12") inches. Agricultural properties are exempt, but are required to mow vegetation that exceeds twelve (12") inches one-hundred (100') feet from a right-of-way, easement or adjacent properties under different ownership. If you would like to report a property, please contact the Code Enforcement Division at 972.335.5580, Ext. 188.

The area off of Shamrock and Childress still seems to be a problem area. 1) Several weeks ago, mounds of dirt appeared and no action has been taken to move them. 2) There are still high weeds. It was mowed near the street for about 10 feet back, but a previous response indicated that a 100' perimeter was to be kept under 12".

Who owns this property - the city or the Stewart Creek homeowners?

Karla,

The area you are referring to is owned by the HOA. The City of Frisco owns a section of this greenbelt north of the second tree line (south of the treatment plant). I am forwarding your complaint to Code Enforcement.

The property adjacent to the area north of Shamrock & Childress is owned by the Stewart Creek Homeowners Association. Code Enforcement will notify the HOA and request abatement of vegetation over 12 inches. If you have any questions, please contact the Code Enforcement Division at 972.335.5580, Ext. 188.
