First of all, THANK YOU to Rick Wieland for damage control while clearing a naturally wooded area of dangerous dead trees without disturbing the remaining surrounding trees and ground cover.
I'd like to request that the wooden park bench be repaired along the Oakbrook trail. The bench closest to Brookview Drive has been missing a board for a few years. Also, at Oakbrook Park, it seems the public restroom area has been locked and severely vandalized for an extended period of time, any plans to refurbish and reopen? And finally, the park equipment is in need of improvements (some major screws missing on equipment and slides cracked etc) any $$ or plans in the budget to spruce up this little park playground?

Thank you for your message. I appreciate your comments and will pass those along to our parks Division personnel who took care in maintaining this area of the park.
In regard to your comments regarding the park equipemnt such as the benches and playground equipment, thank you for bringing them to my attention. I will have our supervisory staff take a look at this and make arrangements to replace and repair those items that you have mentioned. I would ask that you also contact our Superintendent of Parks (Bobby Johnson) and let him know of the specific areas of concern so that we are addressing the correct area.
I would also ask that you mention the opening of the restroom facility to Bobby as well. Unfortunately, we have had some challenges with the use of this particular restroom in the past. Bobby should be able to share with you the current status of this facility.
We very much care about Oakbrook Park and appreciate you and others that live in the surrounding area that act as our eyes and ears for the park.
Thank you and we look forward to talking to you soon.
