I am about to move to this new development at El Dorado and 423. I've checked with the providers and they said they can't tell if DSL is available to my home until I get the phone line installed.

Does anyone reading this know if DSL is currently being provided to any homes in this community and, if so, to what specific streets?

Thanks.

Dear Anonymous,
Please e-mail me directly with your name, address, and phone number if it has been hooked up. I will check to see when DSL will be offered in your area. Please contact me at kherrmann@ci.frisco.tx.us or 972-335-5551 x134.

Dan,
AT&T is scheduled to provide service to Cheyenne Crossing the end of 2003 to the beginning of 2004. You can also try Redmoon Broadband at ww.rmbb.net or Panaband at www.panaband.com.

One of our citizens, Jonathan Macha, spoke with Redmoon Broadband regarding Cheyenne Crossing who states they will provide service within 30 days. Please contact Damian Ferguson, Account Executive/CSA at Redmoon to request service.

When will the city get proactive with the recommendations which were spelled out in the ITMP document which was paid for with taypayers money. For those of you who don't know what I am referring to, the city engaged a consulting firm to outline the steps to become a "Wired City", and knit together a community that has all the data (internet) infrastructure that our neighbors to the south enjoy. Several months later after council heard the recommendations from the consulting firm, there still is no action or interest. Please explain the delay and or lack of interest/action.

Joe-

Please understand that simply because there has not been much public showing of ITMP-related activities, that is not to say that there hasn't been any activity. As you will probably recall, the first initiative that was recommended was the hiring of a Director of IT so that we would have on staff a person that was qualified and responsible for the ITMP implementation and to superintend our internal IT functions. Our search process for that position lasted longer than I had hoped due to the fact that we had over 850 applicants for the position, most of which were well-qualified. I am happy to say that Ric Bentley, our Director of IT has been working since June 30, and is in the process of familiarizing himself with the ITMP and beginning to make recommendations based upon it. We are actively moving forward with several of the recommendations, and you and the community should see deliverables from this work in the near future. As always, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

Thanks-
Jason Gray
