I had the pleasure of assisting hundreds of other Frisco citizens in rebuilding Friendship Park. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to volunteer on Sunday.

1. Did we finish the project?
2. Were the offending children part of the re-build team?
3. Is the city pursuing civil actions against the parents to offset the cost of the rebuild?

Thanks.

Dear Anonymous,

Thanks for your note regarding the rebuilding of Friendship Park that took place this past weekend.

Before answering your questions, I would like to take an opportunity to thank all of the individuals and groups who took valuable time during this holiday season to help in rebuilding this community playground.

With the help of 300 - 400 individuals, we were able to totally rebuild the damaged section of the playground. Because of this wonderful response, we were also able to refurbish the remainder of the plaground as well between Friday and Sunday.

I would mention that the architect's representative mentioned that our turnout for the repair was much higher than others that he had seen in other parts of the country.

In regard to your questions, I do not believe that the individuals responsible were a part of the rebuilding. I believe that the reconstruction was done in as positive manner as possible and that their involvement may have deterred from that.

Regarding your last question, I believe that the City is continuing to pursue whatever legal actions against the responsible individuals for the damage to the playground.

Should you have any additional questions, please contact me at (972) 335-5517.

Thank you,

Rick Wieland
