The traffic light at 720 and 423 no longer allows protected left turn traffic for the 720 west bound traffic turning left on to 423 going south. This is causing a major back-up on 720.

Is there a reason this feature was removed from this intersection?

Thank you for the information.

TxDOT controls this intersection and I am not sure why a change was made. I contacted TxDOT and they made changes yesterday to correct the problem.

We will observe the intersection over the next few days to see if the latest changes have corrected the problem.

Thanks

Will there be any changes to the intersection to accommodate the added traffic for the new shopping center? The rush hour backup is already severe. I'd hate to see it get any worse.

Improvements will be made at this intersection sometime in 2003. The design includes rebuilding the traffic signal, adding a southbound left-turn lane and adding a northbound right-turn lane. Funding to begin the construction will not be available until March of 2003.

Thanks
