There is trash, beer bottles, etc. littered all the way from these apartments to the medians at Rolling Brook and Stonebrook! What can be done about this? I've personnally seen people leaving that complex and throw trash out the windows.

I will ask officers to keep a closer eye on that area. If you witness a violation, please call 972.335.5505 and report it. A vehicle description and license number would be very helpful.

What kind of property owners/management does this place have? I've lived in Oakbrook for a few years now, and it seems this place has gone from bad to worse. My alley backs up to Rolling Brook, and the loud music (bass) goes on all hours of the night. It is extremely frustrating. Surely, something other than keeping a closer eye can be done. Can't the city make the owners/management step up to bat and help clean this place up? Another thing is the unsupervised kids I see playing on Rolling Brook, with the way cars speed down that street, I'm afraid a child will be hurt, or worse, killed.

Increasing patrol and responding to calls for service is how we can help a complex. Parents are responsible to supervise their children. If they are impeding traffic, we can deal with that as well. We are happy to work with apartment managers to aid them in setting up crime watches etc. The initial question, however, related to trash in the medians and right of ways.

A crew was dispatched to pick up the litter this morning. We will keep monitoring the area to make sure it stays clean. I am also going to contact the Manager of Stonebrook Village to see if he/she would be interested in starting an "Adopt A Street" group to patrol the area and pick up litter. Hopefully some of their tenants will be willing to participate in some volunteer activity for the benefit of the community. Thank you for bring this to our attention and be sure to give me a call at 972-335-5519 if I may be of further assistance. Pippa Couvillion, Environmental Services Manager.
