With the new construcion in this area when is the chance of getting a street light put up? This is becomming a dangerous intersection where alot of people are not understanding how the stop sign work nor obeying them. I would appericate anything you can do to help out this area. Could the Police could have a officer come enforce the stop sign?

We will look at the signage and see what improvements we can make. I believe the police department has already had some directed patrols for the area.

On the street light request, we have previously tried to work with CoServ to get a light for this location. I will have to go check the site again, but I believe there were not any existing poles nearby where a light could be attached.

The current construction in the area will complete the missing legs of this intersection.

This is a follow up to the question regarding a streetlight at this intersection.

There are currently two lights located at this intersection. I visited the area late last night and both appeared to be working properly.

Ok... I meant more along the lines of stoplight? Is that in the plans?

A stoplight will be needed at some point in time. Our last signal warrant study for this location was completed in January. The traffic volumes at that time did not indicate that a signal was warranted.

We continually update our signal warrant studies every 6 to 12 months depending on the location. Since this is an intersection between two major arterials, we will try to study this intersection every 6 months until a signal is warranted.

Based on the traffic volumes from recent studies south of this location, a traffic signal will probably be installed in the next 18 to 30 months.

With regards to this 'offset' 4-way intersection, is there a time frame when the intersection will be 'equal' (4 lanes at each way)? Or is dependent on the retail building development? Also, what about the 3-way intersection of Legacy and Warren, in particular, the North bound lanes of Legacy, just south of the intersection? It seems that only about a few 100 feet of pavement needs to be laid.

Legacy and Lebanon

A portion of the missing section of Lebanon east of Legacy will be constructed with the retail currently under construction in the southeast corner of this intersection. This retail corner will also complete the missing section of Legacy just south of Lebanon. In the northeast corner, the short section of Legacy should be under construction in the next one to two months. When these two projects are complete, the intersection will then be a "normal" four-legged intersection. I don't have a time frame on the retail construction, but I would expect them to be complete in the next 9 to 12 months.

Legacy between Stonebriar and Warren

If the line item for road construction funding in the upcoming bond election is approved, this particular section of roadway is expected to be a part of the first bond sale in February of 2003. Construction would hopefully start within about 12 to 18 months after the sale.
