At some point in the past, when Preston was still 2 lanes, there was a request for a stoplight at Preston Vineyard Dr and Preston. The status was always "waiting for Texas DOT" in the local paper and then at some point it stopped showing up in the road construction update. Since then, Preston has been widened to 6 lanes and traffic on Preston Vineyard has grown dramatically with the addition of the elementary school. Each morning, turning left onto Preston is quite a dangerous experience. Is there any chance that a stoplight might be installed there?

Thank you for the question.

TxDOT did complete their signal warrant study at this location during the spring of 2001. At that time, TxDOT determined that a traffic signal was not warranted. We are continuing to work with TxDOT in monitoring this location.
