I just went to the Frisco city hall at Frisco square. I couldn't help but notice it is a "gun free zone." I'm a bit perplexed and disappointed at this. Are the members of Frisco city council/gov't not aware of the vast amount of data that shows "gun free zones" DO NOT prevent bad guys/criminals from bringing in guns and killing people?

Nearly every mass shooting (4 or more people) of the last 50 years happened in "gun free zones." I would hope that the common sense of why this is does not fall on deaf ears over there.

Look at this quote:
"I spoke with Lott after the Newtown shooting, and he confirmed that nothing has changed to alter his findings. He noted that the Aurora shooter, who killed twelve people earlier this year, had a choice of seven movie theaters that were showing the Batman movie he was obsessed with. All were within a 20-minute drive of his home. The Cinemark Theater the killer ultimately chose wasn’t the closest, but it was the only one that posted signs saying it banned concealed handguns carried by law-abiding individuals. All of the other theaters allowed the approximately 4 percent of Colorado adults who have a concealed-handgun permit to enter with their weapons."

How can we change this? I personally do not go into private businesses that do not allow citizens to conceal carry. I would not have gone into this building either if it weren't for the fact that I had to. I do not appreciate having my 2nd amendment rights taken away by the same institutions sworn to protect them. nd
