Is there a time change on Legacy and Main intersection of Traffic light? Around 5:30pm, Traffic going west on main are backing up all the way to the tollway service road. It's creating a huge backup on the tollway service road since both lanes on tollway service road can take left on main. Also, through traffic has to wait for the cars to make left on main for them to be able to go accross the main light.
Would you please have someone look into the timing of the light on that intersection.

When the bridge at Lebanon Road closed, we were able to move additional traffic NB in the PM peak to reduce the backup at the last toll-booth on Dallas Parkway. We had to make adjustments to the traffic signals at Dallas Parkway and Main to handle the additional traffic from the toll-way and we also checked the signal at Main and Legacy to make sure we didn’t have a backup WB at Legacy. However, I’ll check it again this afternoon at 5:30 to make sure we do not have a problem. We’re also trying to accommodate the heavy demand NB on Legacy as well.

Traffic is like water – it you increase the flow upstream, you have to make sure you can maintain the flow downstream – otherwise, it is going to create ponding you don’t want. If you keep increasing the flow, then at some point, all you can do is widen the channel – that’s where we are on some of the state highways right now (like Eldorado Parkway and Preston Road).
