This section of road is scheduled to start design near then end of this year. Design will take approximately 9 months to complete, with construction following in fall of 2007.

With the road not being expanded until after the Highschool opens, are there plans to put in a temporary stops signs for North/South Independance at Rolater and what about Rolater and where the HighSchool is. Thanks.

Please clarify the section of Rolator to which you are referring. I understood that the Rolator Road construction between Coit & Independence is to begin as soon as Rodman finishes burying the new water main. Are you referring to Rolator between Independence & Custer?

Rolater from Coit to Independence will begin construction as soon as the pipe is installed.

Rolater from Independence to Custer (by the above mentioned Liberty High School) will start construction in approximately 1 year.

William,

There will be a signal in place at Independence and Rolater when Liberty opens in 2007. This signal is being constructed as part of the widening of Independence that will be completed by August 2007.

At this time, signals are not planned for any of the intersections on Rolater in front of the school. We have discussed the possibility of one at Valley Brook and Rolater. However, this will be dependent on the location meeting warrants and having funding available.

We are also in the process of conducting warrant studies for Rolater and Custer. We are working towards having a signal in place at that intersection when school begins in August 2007.

Thanks

What is the current time frame on the starting/completion of the widening of Rolater between Coit and Independance. Also, when will construction start on the widening of Independance from 121 to Rolater?

William,
Currently the Rolater project is on hold based on AT&T relocating a pole line down the Rolater Alignment. They are currently working on the relocations. Once AT&T is complete, a new 42" water line will be installed, this should take 2 months. As soon as the water line is in place, construction on the road will begin. It should take about 9 months to complete.

Independence is also being held up by utility relocations. As soon as coserve relocates there utilities, the contractor will start on that section of Independence.

Thanks

The roadway is 95% designed. The project is anticipate the bid by the end of this month. The project should be awarded for to the contractor in October and construction should start approximately 1-2 months later. The total time of construction is anticipated to be 6 months.

What is the current status of Rolater between Coit and Independence? Its now April 2008 and things seem to have been stalled for a while. It looks as though only about 500 feet of roadway from independence toward coit is complete with little to no progress beyond that.

Also whats happening with Independence between Rolater and Main. The west lane seems to be stuck in limbo.

The Engineering Department provides a monthly status report of all projects they are responsible for or tracking. The April update was just posted and provides current status of projects. You can view the Engineering Department monthly update on the city's web site here:

http://www.friscotexas.gov/Departments/engineering/index.aspx?id=2027

Once on this page, click on "Monthly Staff Report"

City managed road projects listed in alphabetical order begin on page 8. You will find updates on both Independence and Rolater.

Does the city intend to plant any trees in the new median on Rolater between Independence and Custer. There were an awful lot of trees cut down for purposes of widening the road.
