What is the speed limit on Teel between Eldorado and Main Street?

I have noticed that there are speed limit signs for 40mph and 45mph that are within sight of each other. Traveling south on Teel, there is a 40 mph sign, then a 45 mph then a 40 mph. This is very confusing. Why does it change to 45 mph for only a few hundred yards?

There are additional speed limit signs that were installed in the area Monday that should clear up the confusion. Recent changes to the speed limit ordinance changed the speed limit to 45mph on Teel from Trails to Main for both the northbound and southbound directions.

Is there any chance of raising the speed limit on Hillcrest from 40 to 45?

Ken and Matt,

On Hillcrest, speed studies were completed in late 2003. We do not plan to conduct new studies on this roadway until 2008.

Speed studies were completed on College in January 2006. Based on the results of those studies and a review of the geometry along College, the speed limit will remain at 35mph.
