With school starting and the many sporting activities in Frisco, there always seems to be a bit of activity at our parks.

Are there ordinances that require prior approval to use any space for practice fields?

If my friends and I are already playing on a field can a junior league come in and kick us out?

Is there a website that has listings of reservations or anything of the sort?

With the exception of most of our baseball/softball fields, we have an ordinance that prohibits practice on our game fields. Therefore, a lot of the youth teams utilize our neighborhood parks for practice. In fact, most of our neighborhood parks are designed with large open spaces to allow for these activities. We have had an agreement with the youth sports organizations for the several years allowing them to use the neighborhood parks for practice. I would hope there is enough room for residents not involved with the sports organizations to still utilize the parks.

Please contact me directly if you would like to discuss further.

There generally seems to be enough room for all the teams, but I have seen a couple of issues. Often when walking the sidewalks of Warren Sports Park, the parents and other spectators of some of the practices seem to camp on the sidewalk and the only place to walk is out in the practice area. Also, on Sunset in particular cars parking on both sides of the street cause a very narrow single lane of travel that makes it difficult to use the street. Since the road curves a bit, if you enter this single lane another car may enter at the other end and they meet in the middle with no place for one of them to go.

Thanks for the note and comments about the parking and persons around the sidewalks at Warren Sports Complex.

We will communicate with the Frisco Football League as well as all of the other youth sports organizations to remind them of the restriction of parking on the north side of Sunset as well as being courteous to others trying to use sidewalk trail areas.

If you have any additional questions regarding this, please feel free to let me or our staff know.

Thanks again,
