Is there a City ordinance in regard to people parking vehicles on an empty residential lot? A famiy in my neighborhood has a truck and a car (still on the trailer) that have been parked on the empty adjacent lot since the day they moved in about 3 weeks ago. And not only are they parking the vehicles on the empty lot, these vehicles have not moved since they were put on the lot. Are people allowed to store unused vehicles on empty residentail lots?

From Code Enforcement:
Residents in residential districts may park motor vehicles on private property. Code Enforcement does not have an ordinance that prohibits a property owner from parking on an undeveloped lot.

Persons who reside in subdivisions with homeowners associations may have a requirement in their covenants. Code Enforcement does not enforce deed restrictions.

Storage of motor vehicles on private property is addressed in the motor vehicle ordinance #88-03-07 (inoperable for 30 consecutive days if the vehicle is on private property).

If you feel the vehicle is in violation, contact police communications at 972.335.5505 and an officer will be sent out to investigate.
