Is there any new updates with the progress of Grand Parks's construction? Where could I find more information regarding the park's plans?

We do not have any construction plans for Grand Park at this time. The City hired Carter & Burgess to develop a master plan for this park. We are near the end for completion of this master plan.

The 2006 Bond program that was approved May 13th included $22.5 million dollars for Grand Park, $15 million to reimburse the Community Development Corporation for the acquisition of the property to date, and $7.5 million for the first phase of construction. The first phase of construction will be determined after adoption of the master plan that will occur this summer.

Please contact Gail Stafford at 972-335-5580 ext. 191, she will forward you the presentation on Grand Park at the April 27, 2006 meeting.

I have not heard any further updates regarding the construction of Grand Park. Can I please get an update on the current status?
Or can I go online and see the progress of the park plans?

City Council approved the master plan for Grand Park a couple of months ago. The City has not established time lines for constructing any of Grand Park improvements reflected on the master plan. Because of its size and proposed improvements, it will take a number of years to build out. You can call me at 972-292-5310 if you like to discuss this further.

Since the master plan for Grand Park has been approved, is there some place on-line we can view it?

The actual document for the Master Plan for Grand Park is still being finalized. The City Council has approved the overall design and elements but there are still numerous details that staff and the consulting firm are working on. For this reason the Plan has not been placed on the City's website. If you wish to see a drawing of the Plan you may come down to the Municipal Complex at 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard to Planning & Development Services which is located on the Third Floor.

The property for Grand Park is still being acquired but will be generally located north of Stonebrook Parkway, east of Legacy Drive, south of Cotton Gin Road and west of the BNSF rail line. The majority of the site will line along the west side of the DNT and there will be a portion on the east side of the DNT along Stewart Creek.

If you wish to see the overall proposed site you can visit the Planning & Development Services Department on the third floor of City Hall.

The Grand Park committee will meet again this Monday October 1, 2012. At the meeting they will be presented with several options for the architecture of the buildings within the park as well as review the updated design for the kids place area. This meeting is open to the public and will begin at 6:30 at the Senior Center. The project is progressing satisfactorily. We are still probably a year to eighteen months from receiving approval from the USACE and then the plans must be finalized then put out to bid.
