Do you know if a Super Target is planned for intersection of Eldorado and the tollway, next to the Home Depot?

There has been discussions between staff and a potential developer about this site. However, these discussions occurred a couple of months ago and no applications have come forward for any type of development on the property. The NE & SE corner of Eldorado and the Tollway now have signs stating 'Shopping Centers Coming Soon', can you provide any update on vendor applications?

Todd,

The signs that you see are for developers looking to sign up interested parties for their developments. At this time we have no information on who might be occupying any of these shell buildings. Typically, we do not track businesses that locate in shell buildings. We work with the development of the site and its layout and design. Who occupies the final structures is not something that we know about in advance.

I noticed that the February list of submittals contained a submittal for a Super Target big box retail permit at Eldorado and Legacy. Does this mean that a Super Target will for sure be there or is it still being reviewed by the city? Thanks.

Typically when an application is made for a specific site, the corporation has chosen that site as the location for a new store. However, there are many things that happen during the permiting process that can cause reconsideration of a selected site. Each company has certain criteria that they use to evaluate projects. If something comes up that may result in higher construction costs, that may trigger the need to look at a different site.

This same thing can even occur after plats and site plans have been approved and other permits are sought. While this does not occur often, it does happen. I believe that in this specific situation that Target will work to bring this project forward due to the location of the site and its access to customers.
