Nichols elem west of Teel and north of stonebrook is set to open in the fall. What streets will access the campus ie. stonebrook thru Phillips creek ranch, prospect rd in Pearson farms, etc? Also will sidewalks be in place down stonebrook before opening? Where will crossing guards be located to cross Teel pkwy?

K.Meade,

From the west, a street called Red Rock Canyon Drive is currently under construction in Phillips Creek Ranch that will connect from Stonebrook Parkway to the school. From the east, residents of Pearson Farms will take High Shoals Drive across Teel Parkway and then a street called Nichols Trail is currently under construction that will take them south to the school. Prospect Drive may be extended westward as part of some future development phase, but nothing is planned there in the near future. (The online map on the City website shows the future roads in that area.)

The City will be constructing sidewalk along Stonebrook Parkway between Babbling Brook Drive and Teel Parkway and making the connections to the existing sidewalk along Teel before the school opens. The developer of Phillips Creek Ranch will be building the sidewalk along Stonebrook Parkway west of Teel Parkway, but the timeline for that work is not defined yet. (However, that stretch of sidewalk will not be needed for Pearson Farms students to reach the school.) The walking route from the Pearson Farms and Wynngate neighborhoods will be to walk up to High Shoals Drive, walk west, and then walk south on Nichols Trail to the school. Sidewalk will be constructed along this entire route before school starts.

We have not finalized all of our school zone/crossing guard plans yet since the new attendance boundaries were only recently approved. However, we are currently planning to place crossing guards at the intersection of Teel Parkway and High Shoals Drive and at the intersection of High Shoals Drive and Nichols Trail.
