I read last year that there were plans to replace the middle turn lane on US 380 with raised medians and left turn lanes on the McKinney section of the road. Are there any plans to do that on the Frisco section of US 380 and further west?

The City of Frisco is currently working with TxDOT on a similar project. The 6 lane, raised median section would be continued from McKinney to west of the Dallas North Tollway. Included in that project is a 3 level interchange at Preston and US 380 (similar to Preston at SH 121) and a grade separation at the Dallas North Tollway.

Design of the project is currently underway; however, construction is not expected to begin until 2013.
