I recently read an article about the increasing number of arrests of citizens for video recording police. The usual charge is wiretapping.
I was wandering what the law is in Texas and what the Frisco police stance is. Can you be arrested? If so on what charge?
Is it legal for a citizen to record an officer? I am assuming that the person is in a public area and not interfering with the police, just standing and watching and recording.

I saw that very article yesterday and was as surpised as you apparently were. I am not aware of any violation in Texas for photographing a police officer in a public place.
I am not familiar with Maryland law or how the interpretation and enforcement came about.
