My son is playing in FBSA's Summer League baseball and is playing at YC for all their games. Tonight when we got to YC for the game, the parking lot was blocked off and the sidewalks throughout the park were torn up and the debris (large chunks of concrete with rebar sticking out all over) were scattered within the park. Why couldn't this wait for 2 more weeks when the summer league is finished? It was completely unsafe for kids to be playing around the playground and many parents and kids gather near the play area before their games start. Kids were playing on the mounds of concrete with the rebar sticking out. Serious accident waiting to happen.

First off, I apologize that you had that experience at Youth Center Park. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
There was a pre-construction meeting on-site last week and the contractor started the project sooner than expected, as deadlines are set for construction when projects are bid. All of the large chunks of concrete that were demolished have been removed as of the first of the week.
All future games for this season have been moved to other fields, as you are probably aware of by now. Youth Center Park will be closed until construction has been completed.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
