I live in Panther Creek Estates, and both parks (Mourning Dove and Bobwhite) are currently overwhelmed with ant hills. Does the city do anything to control the ant hills in these parks?

Do they fertilize the grass as well? The open grassy areas in these parks are terribly maintained ... the grass is generally very spotty and full of weeds.

We treat all of our irrigated parks and athletic fields for fire ants with a spring and fall application. We also spot treat visible mounds that appear throughout the year. Large areas such as parks and golf courses are extremely difficult to maintain 100% control of fire ants, and the excessive amount of rain we have gotten the past few weeks has compounded the problem making this year worse than most years. Control this year has been extremely challenging a major problem throughout North Texas.

We do fertilize neighborhood parks, but due to necessary budget cuts this past year we reduced the number of applications.
