Looking for a quick update on the Frisco Fire Training Center to be built at the NW corner of Independence and Eldorado. The sign advertising the training center has been posted on the property for over a year now, with no signs of construction. Are there any preliminary drawings or plans that residents living nearby can review? Any updates on planned start of construction?

Mr. Ruzicka,

The sign was placed at the future site of our Fire Training Center to give anyone moving to the area information about what is planned for that location.

The Frisco Fire Department has a twenty plus year old site that we currently use for training. The planned new Training Center will to allow us to train in methods more accurately depicting Frisco as it exists today using state of the art techniques and equipment.

While development of this site is eagerly anticipated, we do intend to delay beginning construction until a more positive economic environment exists. I believe the most fiscally responsible approach will be to continue to utilize the existing training facility while maintaining the planned site as a future project.

Should you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me at any time.

Thank you,
