There is a home in the Latera neighborhood that is visible from Eldorado that appears to have been abandoned by the builder. Scaffolding was put up last fall for installation of the spanish tile roof. 4 - 5 mos later the scaffolding is still there and there are numerous pallets of spanish tile still on the roof. Are homebuilders required to carry construction bond insurance so homes aren't abandoned midstream?

No, home builders are not required to carry a bond or insurance for this situation. Inspection and Code Enforcement staff will investigate the location. Call 972 292-5301 if you have questions.
