I have recently purchased a single story house in Frisco which requires a new roof. I am experienced in roof installation but am not a professional installer. I've replaced roofs on four of my investment properties in small towns which do not require permits or enforce building codes. Are there any restrictions in Frisco which would prevent me as the home owner from relpacing my own roof? Is a permit all that is required? Is an inspection required to ensure compliance with code?

Yes, a home owner may perform work on their residence with out having to register as a contractor. A permit and an inspection upon completion is required. Contact Building Inspections at 972 292-5301 if you have questions.
