Why is it that the City of Frisco charges a convenience fee and an online utility payments fee just to pay your water bill online, when nearly all other utilities and businesses encourage you to pay online and don't charge these fees? This has the effect of discouraging online viewing and payment of bills, which, I would think, costs the city money.

Mr. Wilkins,
Thanks for your question. The City Council has authorized the convenience fees for utility payments to cover the costs of providing this service. We can certainly revisit this previous decision to assess this fee with the current Council during budget worksessions. In the meantime, you can sign up for automatic bank draft at no charge through the Utility Billing Office.
