When gas prices were high and also departments were asked to cut back on expenses this year, were neighborhood police patrols reduced? I have retired neighbors and they agree that they have seen less police visibility around our neighborhood and Frisco in general. How are these statistics tracked? Are miles recorded daily for each vehicle, neighborhoods driven, etc?

The number of police units assigned has not been reduced. There has been an increased focus on patrolling techniques, to include the use of more foot patrols and static intersection enforcement both in neighborhoods and along major roadways. Some of these activities may have reduced the amount of times you saw a squad car driving through your area, but they didnít necessarily decrease the amount of time officers were in your area. Fuel consumption per vehicle is tracked by the city, and departments receive weekly and monthly usage totals, and miles are tracked through the fuel system as well.
