What's the status of Grand Park? On the parks and recreation web site there are some really cool images on the Park Master Plan, Lake View, and Overall View. How "conceptual" are these and how certain is the development? The web site says, "master planning for the park took place in 2006 and the planning for the Phase I development of the park is currently underway." Is the Master Plan supposed to be pretty firmed up? What kind of timing is there for an estimated completion? I'm assuming this is a multi-year process but wasn't even sure if it was actually approved or not. Looks amazing and I'm sure it will do wonders for Frisco, thanks!

Thanks for your note and interest in the Grand Park. As you can imagine the Grand Park is an enormous undertaking.

We have posted the latest version of the master plan on the web ( MP.pdf).

The City will grow into this park over the next number of years and things may adjust accordingly. The mixed use layout you see on the west and north of the park is purely conceptual at this point.

We have submitted documents to the United States Army Corps of Engineers to gain permission to construct the lakes. This process can take between 12 and 24 months and once we understand how long this process will take, we should be able to firm up the time line.

We are currently making efforts to get phase one constructed which will primarily be the lakes, kids place area, infrastructure, parking and the amphitheater area.

Feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions.
