We are updating the look of our wood burning interior fireplace wall to a natural stone. We are also putting in hardwood flooring. What is the minimum depth of tile or stone that is required between the fireplace wall and the hardwood floor? Measures 27.75" today. We would prefer something narrower if we can remain in code. Thank you!
