The City of Frisco’s water restrictions are enforced by employees of Meters Division from the Public Works Department. These employees monitor for water use, including outdoor water use and water waste. They will note the date, time and type of watering schedule or water wasting violation. The monitors make reasonable efforts to make personal contact with the responsible party when issuing a watering violation. Fees for water waste will be applied to the customer accounts within two weeks of the date of the violation.

All irrigation violations will be disconnected with a RED yard sign. A first violation results in a $25 administrative fee that will be added to the associated water bill. The $25 administrative fee will be waived or credited after the completion of a free irrigation check-up of the violating system. A $50 fee will be added for the second violation. A $75 fee will result from the third violation, along with issuance of a citation. Beginning January 1, 2013 through November 11, 2013, Frisco had: 2,753 violations at the 1st violation level, 72 violations at the 2nd violation level, and 6 violations at the 3rd violation (citation) level.

Since Stage 3 was initiated on June 1, Frisco has saved about 1.06 billion gallons of water compared to the same period last year (June – October). The NTMWD asked its 13 member cities, as well as customer cities, to reduce annual consumption by at least 10-percent. Frisco exceeded the 10-percent goal, despite its ever-increasing population growth.
