Will Coit Road, south of Main also be widened as part of this project?

Why are the existing concrete intersections of Eldorado/Hillcrest and Eldorado/Coit being torn up and being replaced? They seemed to be in good condition before the Eldorado expansion project started.
A good 50 feet of 4 lanes of Coit from south of the Eldorado intersection had been poured years ago and the contractors ripped it up a few weeks ago to only have to replace it back down with new concrete. The same thing is happening at the Eldorado/Hillcrest intersection, where they tore up all 3 East bound lanes of concrete to only replace it with fresh concrete a week later...do you know the reason why they are doing that? Are they putting pipes or wires under the intersections or something?

The existing concrete at these intersections were replaced due to the new grades at the intersections for smooth transition or fixing settlement and cracking of existing concrete pavement.

At Hillcrest Road/Eldorado Parkway, some of the existing concrete panels at were replaced due to settlement which created ponding leaving water puddles at this location when it rains. Also some of the pavement were cracked over the years indicating pavement failure and were getting worse. These had to be fixed since we had a contractor working in this area and it made sense to fix now since the traffic control was set up and it will cost a lot less than having a contractor come back later and the inconvenience this will cause to motorists.

On Coit Road/Eldorado Parkway, the whole intersection was redesigned and grades adjusted to create a smooth comfortable ride through the intersection.
