Does the city offer any Grackle control services on city-owned property? My house backs up onto a city street lined with bradford pears that are now inundated with grackles. The noise in the early morning and evening is bad enough, but I've had to contend with dead baby birds in my yard posing health threats to my dogs and family.

Thank for your note. In answer to your question about possible grackle control, I am not aware of any control that the City currently offers to control these or any other type of bird.

Frankly, for those larger more urban cities that try and control birds such as these (Dallas, Fort Worth)their success has been very limited.

If you have possible health concerns, I would suggest that you contact Julie Stallcup, with the Health and Food Safety Division at 972-292-5380.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to let me know.
