Does the city offer mulch and/or fill dirt for free or cheap?

I regret to say that the city does not offer either dirt or mulch for free. Mulch can be purchased at a discount price of $2.50 per 2 cubic foot bag. Colors are available in black, brown and red. The mulch is made from wood recycled from our green building waste diversion program. It is chemical free.

We also have a limited supply of bagged compost. Residents may pick up 3 free bags per month (while supplies last)

Both products are available at the Environmental Collection Center located at 6726 Walnut Street. Hours of operation for mulch sales only - every Saturday 8 a.m. - Noon. Please note: The center is not open for citizen drop off.

To learn more about these products availability call us at Environmental Services 972-292-5900.

Texas Pure Compost and mulch is also available for purchase at the Custer Road Transfer Station located just south of 121. Hours of operation 8 a.m - 4 p.m. Monday - Saturday. Closed Sunday.

Thanks for recycling!
