Got a note today from the Elementary school that said I can no longer bring my dog on school grounds to pick up or drop off my children. So basically I cannot walk the dog too and from school, according yo yhe note.

Is this legal? What are the current leash laws??

The dog must be on a leash. The school can control what comes onto the school grounds, but may not prohibit you from walking the dog on the public sidewalk. They can prohibit you from bringing the dog on their private sidewalks (those on the interior of the property), but not on the sidewalk near the street.

Without more specific information, that is the best I can respond. Feel free to email me at trenshaw@friscotexas.gov if you have further questions.
