The temporary Teel Parkway that connects High Shoals Dr to Timber Ridge Rd is starting to come apart. The heat the last few days has made the oil resurface and now the gravel is sticky and coming loose. Can something be done to fix this before it becomes so rough people start driving through the field again?

Since there appears to be no real push to extend the real Teel or Legacy further south, this has become the only viable route for most of us out of our neighborhoods. Based on the increase in traffic on this road the last few months, our little secret is out.

It's very frustrating to see Legacy recently extended north from Main. ....but to where? Obviously, there was not real need for it, since it was closed to traffic immediately. Wouldn't it have made more since to take it South at this time. Are developers or traffic congestion driving those decisions?

Public Works will watch Old Teel from High Shoals to Timber Ridge.

Teel Parkway is under Construction and is anticipated to be completed in December 2005. The Contractor is waiting on large storm sewer boxes which should be on site next month and you will see more progress. Legacy south of Main Street is currently under construction and should be open to traffic in July 2005.
Roadways are built both by congestion and development. Legacy Road north of Main Street was built by development. FISD is building a High School and due to requirements they were required to build Legacy. Teel Road is being built to help congestion. Normally Capital Improvement Projects are built to release congestion and some times to help development.

If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me at 972-335-5585 ext 129

Can something be done about the melting pavment on the the temporary Teel Parkway that connects High Shoals Dr to Timber Ridge Rd? It is a mess. You can here it hitting your car when you drive on it, and in spots where it is real bad your car slides.

We have spread additional chip rock on the surface to help seal it off. We will also be repairing the potholes and asphalt failures within the next week.

Once the Southwest Community Park opens, is the city going to use chip rock on 4th army also? That will be the only road from the south of the park that people will use. Thanks

Thanks for your note. I would defer an answer regarding chip sealing 4th Army Memorial to our Public Works Department and specifically the Street Department.

I feel certain that this would be addressed as we get closer to the point of the park being developed. Speaking to that point, it appears that the First Phase of work on the Southwest Community Park site will be begun in early 2006.

Discussion by the Parks and Recreation Board and the Community Development Corporation are currently underway as far as what funding level will be available for the park's initial development.

Should you have any additional questions regarding the park or development of that site, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks again for your interest.

There are no truck signs on the temporary Teel Parkway, but every afternoon there are several buses that use this road. Are the school buses exempt from this rule?

Any truck that is making deliveries or picking up goods are exempt from the ordinance, so yes, school buses would be exempt.

Can we get additional chip rock on the surface? The road is melting again.

Regarding Charlie's post on May 26th, can Mr. Renshaw provide some detail on this ordinance? Specifically what trucks are prohibited and what are we trying to achieve with this? If deliveries of all kinds are allowed, aren't the majority of trucks we're trying to prohibit doing just that? Also, in Chicago, on roads marked with No Trucks signage, all trucks including pickups (licensed as a Truck) are not allowed. What's our legal direction here?
