Who is responsible for mowing the grass in this location? It looks as if part of it was mowed within the past week, and the rest hasn't been mowed in months. About a month ago the FISD started a small construction job at the playground, and it is not even finished. I know that the City is not responsible for what the FISD does to the FISD playground equipment, but isn't this park referred to as a Community Park? It sure would be nice if the residents could use the playground. Also, the City owns the other piece of playground equipment. Who is responsible for properly maintaining the grass?

Dear Ms. Singer,

Thank you for your note regarding the school and park site that is at the Smith Elementary and Clark Middle School site. I have had our staff look at the site in question and they have reported that even though the specific area that hasn't been maintained is a part of the FISD's maintenance responsibility, our staff has taken care of this and will continue to monitor this to ensure that this area is being maintained.

It is my understanding that when during the construction of the playground bordering by the District was taking place, maintenance by the FISD contractor discontinued. The construction contractor also did not replace grass in the area between the School's playground and one of the City's. This caused mud to accumulate in our playground during the heavy rains.

Please let me know if you continue to see problems there. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.
